Donation Guidelines
All donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.
Items may be dropped off Monday - Saturday 10am-4pm at Habitat ReStore in Gaithersburg, MD.
For larger items, please contact the ReStore donation office at (301) 947-3304, or email (with an image of the items) to restore@habitat-mc.org to schedule a possible pick-up.
There may be times when we are overstocked in certain areas and may not be able to accept an item.

Legal restrictions prevent us from accepting some items and we do not accept items that are structurally broken. Please clean items before donating them to ReStore.
We have limited storage capacity and may be unable to receive certain items. If we are unable to accept your donation, ask us for a list of other donation, recycling and disposal centers that may be able to assist you.
What We Accept
| Antiques | |
| Appliances Refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, freezers, microwaves, dishwashers. All appliances accepted |
Appliances must be clean and in good working order, aired-out/defrosted if applicable. |
| Cabinets | Must be complete units, structurally intact, with doors, and shelving. Single cabinets will be taken on a case by case basis. |
| Flooring material | Tile no less than 25sq ft., new hardwood complete boxes, Carpet brand new, no remnants. |
| Furniture Sofas, love seats, coffee tables, bedroom furniture, dining room |
Must be good to excellent condition (no tears, stains, etc.), sofas, love seats, coffee tables, bedroom and dining room furniture etc. |
| Hardware | Nuts, bolts, screws, nails, cabinet hardware (no rust). |
| Housewares | Items must be clean. |
| Lighting Kitchen/dining room chandeliers and sconces, compact fluorescent bulbs, floor and table lamps, bath lighting and fixtures. |
Must be working with all parts. |
| Lumber | Millwork (clean), vinyl base, decking material, fencing material, de-nailed/de-stapled, drywall, plywood (must be full sheets good condition). |
| Mirrors | With frames only. |
| Office Furniture | Office chairs, bookcases & file cabinets. |
| Plumbing | Usable fixtures, vanity tops only with cabinets, heavy duty faucet fixtures, parts, supplies, pedestal sinks, toilets (1.6 gallon/low-flush only), brand new tubs, PVC pipes / fittings. Plumbing must be complete, clean, and in good condition. |
| Roofing | New materials only. |
| Tools | Good working condition only. |
| TV's | Working Flat Screen (LED, LCD and Plasma only). |
| Windows | Only matching set, insulated glass, new blinds with all hardware. |
