Our People

Jeff received his Bachelor's degree in Conservation from North Carolina State University. He has been involved with both national and regional builders for more than 30 years. He is a team leader for disaster relief missions and has been to locales from Alaska to Haiti.

Mike is a long time supporter of Habitat for Humanity (HFH) and has been a resident of Montgomery Country, MD for 25+  years. Before working for HFH-MC, Mike spent his free time volunteering for the HFH Frederick County affiliate. Mike has passed the course requirements to become a Certified Home Inspector in Maryland as well as the course requirements to become a Certified Green Professional with the National Association of Homebuilders.

Amanda joined HFH-MC in the fall of 2009.  Originally from Miami, Florida Amanda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Florida International University in Miami, and a Master of Professional Studies in Management from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.  Prior to coming to HFH-MC Amanda held positions in fundraising and government relations.  She is passionate about affordable housing issues and is thrilled to be part of the HFH-MC team!

Alex grew up in Baltimore, MD and received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to joining HFH-MC Alex worked in Political Fundraising and held internships in Marketing and Public Relations and on Political Campaigns. She looks forward to working with a great team for a wonderful organization!

Debbie grew up in Montgomery County, MD and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Maryland, College Park. Debbie has worked in Partnership and Direct Marketing for more than 15 years.  Most recently, Debbie worked for a non-profit membership organization where she generated revenue to fund additional membership benefits.  Debbie is excited about working for such a great organization and improving the lives of Habitat homeowners!     

Kelly is a recent graduate from the University of Maryland, where she studied Anthropology. She spent so much time in college working with community service groups that it started to feel like a career. Now trying to make that reality, Kelly is happy to be the Faith Relations intern at Habitat. In her free time, Kelly enjoys getting caught in the rain.

John has served as Executive Director of HFH-MC since 2006.  His prior experience includes ownership of several residential construction related businesses in Florida.  He was the CEO of McBee Systems, Inc. and held executive level positions in the printing industry.  In recent years he facilitated CEO roundtable groups in Philadelphia and strategic planning as a team member of The Saga Institute. John is a Chicago native, served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and is a Certified Yoga Teacher.

Rachael graduated from S.U.N.Y. Buffalo with a Bachelor's degree in Speech Communication. She completed her Masters at Gallaudet College in Washington D.C. Rachael has been working for nonprofits in the area of finance for the past 25 years.

Colleen is a Graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor's degree in Management and a minor in Women Studies. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Non-Profit Management from the University of Maryland. She is extremely proud to be working for such a wonderful organization.

Adeela, a native of Maryland, came to Habitat after working for two years at the National Council of Nonprofit Associations in Washington, DC. When Adeela is not working hard, she enjoys spending time with her young daughter.

Nicole began her studies at Indiana University and is currently finishing her degree in Political Science at the University of Maryland. New to the Maryland area Nicole begin as an intern for Habitat in 2008 and has now joined the ReStore team as an Assistant Manager. Nicole hopes to have an impact on public and social policy. In her free time she enjoys outdoor activities and reading/writing.

Barry began working with Habitat ReStore in June 2009. He attended Morgan State University, and worked in the auto industry for 5 years prior to coming to Habitat. In his time away from the ReStore he enjoys coaching his son’s football team.

LaShanna began as a Habitat ReStore volunteer in March 2010, she was then hired as a full time staff member in July 2010. She is originally from Bronx, New York and has live in Maryland for the last 10 years. LaShanna is currently a student at Montgomery College studying general studies. During her down time LaShanna enjoys spending time with her two young daughters.

Mike recently graduated from the University of South Carolina with his bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Management and minor in Hospitality. Mike is excited to be a serving his AmeriCorps service year as a part of the Habitat ReStore team. After his year of service, Mike whishes to continue his studies in Management.  When Mike is not working with the volunteers in the ReStore you can find him across the street at the Tex Mex restaurant.

Jessica graduated in 2005 from Chapman University in Orange County, California with a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications and a minor in Sociology.  She served as an AmeriCorps*VISTA member with HFH-MC from 2005-2006 and grew up in Kaneohe, Hawaii.

Molly graduated from the University of Chicago with degrees in both Environment Studies and Anthropology. She has also completed coursework at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for a Masters in Land Resources.  She comes to Habitat having previously worked on community development and housing projects in the nonprofit and private sectors. Molly spends much of her free time with her husband and their dog when she isn’t otherwise baking or volunteering.

Daniel, a native of Montgomery County, recently received his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from University Maryland Baltimore County.  During his time at the university, he participated in the Habitat club on campus as well as in workdays in Baltimore and Flagler, Fl. Daniel looks forward to helping initialize the Weatherization program in this area during his year of AmeriCorps service. While not at work, he unwinds by playing sports and reading.

Jess was born in Virginia however she was raised overseas. She has spent the last 8 years living in the D.C. metro area.   Jess is a recent graduate from University of Maryland with her bachelor’s degree in Public Health. Jess spent the year prior to joining HFH-MC traveling through Africa and South East Asia, in addition to volunteering. She's looking forward to her year of service with AmeriCorps, and helping Habitat for Humanity provide affordable housing to low income families. When she’s not working, Jess enjoys traveling and embarking on new adventures.
