Pride Build

About Pride Build

Pride Build embraces diversity by bringing together the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and friends to rehabilitate a distressed home in our community for a deserving low-income family. Working alongside Habitat volunteers and partner families, Pride Build will raise the money needed to rehabilitate the home, and assist with the construction in order to make it simple, decent and energy efficient.

Who are you building a home for?Elby

Habitat homeowners are selected by the Family Selection Committee based upon the 4 basic criteria areas. This criteria includes housing need, willingness to partner, residency in Montgomery County and ability to pay. We encourage and support a program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, sex, marital status, physical or mental disability, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, presence of children, source of income, sexual orientation, age and family responsibilities. If you are intrested in learning more about the family selection process please visit the Homeownership setion of our website.

When we have reached our fundraising goal and construction is completed on the home, Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County will sell the house to the selected homeowner at below market rates, and with a 30 year, no interest mortgage. The homeowner will make monthly affordable mortgage payments and will gain equity in the home each year.
