Wind Power Helped Habitat Create a Cleaner, Greener Environment!

In 2009 HFH-MC purchased 57 wind power renewable energy credits (REC) through our partnership with Clean Currents. For every unit of renewable electricity generated an equivalent amount of RECs were produced. Our purchase of RECs supported renewable electricity generation which helped reduce conventional electricity generation. HFH-MC was able to offset air emissions such as Carbon Dioxide (a major greenhouse gas that causes global warming), Sulfur Dioxide and Nitrogen Oxides (toxic gases that cause acid rain), and Ozone and particulate matter (pollutants that aggravate respiratory symptoms like asthma).  Our organization will continue to find new and interesting ways to become a green organization and we look forward to sharing them with you.
