What's New at Habitat Montgomery
Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County is proud to share the wonderful work of our volunteers, families, staff and community partners. HfH-MC has been fortunate to work with a wide range of broadcast, print, radio and internet media. We have been featured on local television programs, networks and cable programming. We also appear regularly in The Washington Post, The Montgomery County Gazette as well as other neighborhood newspapers and ethic media.
We encourage members of the press to partner with us. If you are interested in covering a build event, profiling a HfH-MC family, speaking with volunteers, visiting our homes or learning more about the work that we do, please call our office at 301-990-0014.

We Are Building on Faith
Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County’s (HfH-MC) Building on Faith Week is an annual celebration of Habitat’s strong and continuing Christian heritage. This year, on September 16th and 18th churches, and faith groups from around the county joined HfH-MC at a prayer breakfast and interfaith build. Local faith and mission team leaders were in attendance to learn how Habitat for Humanity works with diverse groups of faith to provide affordable housing to low income families.
Special recognition was made to Liberty Grove United Methodist Church for outstanding volunteer support and St. Mark Presbyterian Church for exceptional sponsorship. Habitat Board of Directors and Faith Committee member Sharon Kemmerer said, “The relationships we have built over the years are as fundamental to our cause as the hammers and nails. Through faith, volunteers have helped build homes for families who may have been trapped for generations in the devastating cycle of poverty. This project allows a hundred men; women and children have a decent affordable place to live. Building on Faith Week gives the faith community the chance to explore the question: What are you called to do to support decent and affordable housing for your neighbors?” Sharon expressed hope that attendees would put their faith into action.
