Construction Information

IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT CONSTRUCTION OPPORTUNTIES – We have very limited onsite construction volunteer opportunities at this time.  Please consider volunteering beyond the site.  Click here to read about our other volunteer needs.

Habitat homes are built mostly by a volunteer workforce. No experience is necessary, just a willing attitude and a desire to help!

Construction volunteers are guided by our professional construction staff and trained volunteer Crew Leaders!

To Be Eligible To Volunteer On Habitat’s Construction Site You Must:

  • Sign a volunteer waiver
  • Be at least 16 years old (some activities are age restrictive)
  • Be able to make a full day commitment to Habitat (8:00am-3:30pm)
  • Wear long pants and sturdy closed toed shoes.

Remember...

Construction is a physical task and all volunteers should be comfortable standing for long periods of time, and working outside.

Can’t wait to get your hands dirty?

All volunteers should attend a Blueprints: New Volunteer Information Session before volunteering on site. Sign up for a session or an upcoming build day.

*Please note sometimes the demand for build days exceeds the supply so we may not be able to accommodate your first choice build day.

ReStore Light Deconstruction

ReStore is always looking for volunteers to help with light deconstruction, which generally entails careful removal of kitchen and bath items, windows and doors and any other removable items per the donor. The work is fun, the groups are always lead by experienced volunteers, and it takes one day, 9am – 5pm, unless otherwise noted. Watch out for ReStore Decontruction Days and sign up through VolunteerHub.
